[...] With 14.9 miles of shoreline, Canyon Lake is a 383 –acre lake within the private community. It was formed by a dam that was built in 1927. Rain water coming from the San Jacinto mountains and surrounding valleys supplied the lake with rain water until 1955, when an agreement between the Elsinore valley Municipal Water District and Temscal Water Company brought a more stable supply to the reservoir. The POA leases surface rights to the lake for the enjoyment of its membership. Lakeside parks, swimming areas, beaches, gas docks, and rental slips make the lake a popular place, thanks to Canyon Lakers and the more than 2000 boats they have registered with the POA. Each year the Association stocks the lake with a generous supply of catfish and bass, which join the crappie and the gill there for the enjoyment of fisherman. Also our community contains many clubs for your enjoyment. Find out more about Canyon Lake Community Clubs here. [...]
