The Junior Women’s Club is open to woman with an interesting serving Canyon lake. The goal is to “Build a Better Community” with emphasis on youth. The group provides whatever is needed to keep the community’s young people involved in healthy and fun-filled activities. The club provides an opportunity for new residents to get acquainted and encourages relationships among women in the community.
Fund-raising projects to benefit the children of the community are the club’s main focus. The women are sponsors of the Halloween Carnival, the Holiday Boutique a Casino Night, the Easter Egg Hunt and other community events. Philanthropic service includes scholarship and financial support for needy children and families in the community at Christmas time and throughout the year and to send youngsters to summer camp. The club also contributes to disaster preparedness committees in the community and local schools.
Meetings are held September through June on the first Tuesday evening of the month. All women interested in joining the club’s efforts and activities are invited to call Erin Haggerty @ 244-1622 or Barbie Quinones @ 246-2264.
Within the Jr. Women’s Club is a group of women who call themselves JWC 4 Teens, which sponsors activities for young people in the community. For more information about this group, contact Sharon Hed @ 244-5951.
