Canyon Lake Fire Company 60
Volunteer Fire Company 60 was formed here in May of 1978. The Fire Company’s fleet includes a squad which handles the community’s special needs and is equipped with specialized equipment such as the jaws of life and water rescue equipment to assist in the emergency Preparedness program and to meet the needs of an expanding population.
Requirements for active volunteer work include instruction to earn a Firefighter I classification including First Aid and CPR training. Also they are required to train a minimum of six hours monthly and commit to 48 hours of station coverage each month in addiction to spending time on station and equipment maintenance. Volunteers live in the Canyon Lake roll area, which is determined by Riverside County. Firefighters not only respond to vegetation and vehicle fires, but also to medical aid calls, vehicle accidents, flooding of homes and water rescue. Training schedules are on a continuous basis. Anyone 17 years or older may apply. If interested in helping the community in this worthwhile service, please call 244-5804 for information.
